Mothers Day Tea Party and Mothers Day

May 11-12, 2013
For Mothers Day last year I wanted to do something special for our moms that was different and that they would enjoy. I read in a magazine about a Mothers Day Tea Party. I really wanted to do it, but I was 39 weeks pregnant and didn't have it in me! This year, though, I was totally geared up and ready for it even with my wisdom teeth being pulled.

It started with the invites

The day of the girls and I dressed in our best

Our butler answered the door for our honored guests
(I asked for two things for mothers day and doing this was number one, but Dave took it to a whole different level then I expected by dressing up, getting me a bell to ring, served all the food and tea, and cleaning everything up afterwards! Such a good husband!!)

We started by making homemade fans

And glued flowers we picked on to garden hats

Dont mind me here- my teeth were still really really swollen!

Then we sat down for tea (lemonade), sandwiches, veggies and dip, fruit kabobs, and cupcakes.

It was fun to have a reason to use my china and my tea cups!

Dave was an excellent server. I bought a cute little white tea pot for the party and cant wait to use it every year!

It was so fun to get together and sit around chatting with to wonderful women!

We gave them gardening gloves to go with there gardening hats for Mothers day. It was really a fun day and I hope that next year we have our backyard done so that we can do it outside. I already have some fun ideas in the works and it really made for the best mothers day! Hope you other ladies enjoyed it at much as I did!

Mothers Day was great too. I got breakfast in bed and my second gift from Dave which was a gift certificate to go get my nails done with my older two girls. I cant wait to find a time to go and enjoy a manicure with my girls. At church they gave us chocolate dipped strawberries, but because I was still having a hard time eating and didn't want to look silly so I ate it at home. It was really yummy. It was a nice relaxing day and I love being a mom! Hope all you moms out there had nice days too!
